Most
recently, PGI has added CNC lathes, mills, and multi-functional
machines to its list of capabilities. These services complete the
total machining capability of PGI.
We produce parts requiring only milling, only turning, and a
combination of the two. Our multi-functional equipment has the
capability of combining conventional turning operations with live
tools stations. End and side work can be performed in the same
operation. Both on and off center. This capability provides improved
quality with reduced cycle times.
All of our production equipment is CNC controlled. We produce lot
sizes from one piece prototypes to hundreds of pieces, and
occasionally, thousands of pieces. Even one piece prototype parts
are produced using the efficiency and accuracy of CNC equipment. We
utilize "family of parts" programming techniques when possible.
Multiple parts can be machined in one operation when it will create
a cost advantage. Tools and fixtures are designed and
produced in
house. This helps keep costs low, provide for better process
control, and reduce lead times. All of these techniques and
capabilities plus careful production planning create a competitive
advantage for our customers.
We can work with forgings, extrusions, or bar stock. You supply the
material, or we will if you like. We work with a wide variety of
materials including mild, alloy and stainless steels. Plastics,
bronze, brass, and aluminum are machined too. We have successfully
performed hard turning operations, and machine very difficult
materials such as tungsten.
