CNC
swiss machining technology is a very efficient, cost effective
method of producing relatively small parts with many features. It is
the machining technology for producing long, thin parts.
At PGI, we have machines in 20 mm, 25 mm and 32 mm sizes. All of our
machines are equipped with pick-off spindles and back working
capabilities. This allows us to make parts complete in one
operation. Quality is improved with reductions in cost and lead
time. We produce intricate parts from 1.260 inch diameter down to
.050 inch diameter and sometimes smaller. We routinely drill holes
down to .008 inch diameter and have produced parts with holes down
to .006 inch diameter. Our machines can engrave and etch part
numbers and other markings, broach hexes, and perform all kinds of
side and end working operations such as drilling, milling, and
tapping. Both on and off center.
We work on a large variety of materials such as plastics, brass and
bronze, mild steels, alloy steels, stainless steels including 316
and 17-4 PH, and exotics such as Hastalloy, Inconel, and titanium.
We even stock a variety of raw materials in order to reduce lead
time.
Many companies require large production runs for their swiss
equipment. Not PGI! We have produced prototype runs as small as one
piece. Our experienced employees and careful scheduling help keep
set-up time and associated costs to a minimum. We competitively
produce parts with lot sizes of 100 to 1000 pieces. Actually, the
majority of our production lots fall within this range. We utilize
"family of parts" programming techniques when possible and careful
production planning to create a competitive cost advantage for our
customers. But don't forget about us for the larger runs. We also
produce parts with lot sizes as high as 10,000 to 20,000.
We are no stranger to innovation. Our best example is machining a
strap clamp out of rectangular stock. We were able to reduce costs
and improve profitability of our customer. We used their idea, and
we were able to develop the process.
Combine our innovation, engineering, and processing/production
expertise with our grinding, material control, quality, and
extensive vendor base to create a competitive advantage for your
business. Why incur the extra time, cost, and risk of managing a
part through multiple operations and services? Let us do that for
you. By working with your personnel and handling the entire job, we
can often produce your product at a reduced cost, improved quality,
and reduced lead time.
Our skilled, experienced employees and attention to detail means you
get a quality product every time. Every customer is important to us.
We strive to make sure every order is given the attention it
deserves.
At PGI we always strive to supply the best value possible to our
customers!
