History
Profile Grinding was founded by Henry Homer in 1945 as a centerless grinding shop. He grew the business by becoming a trusted source of precision-machined components, while providing exceptional service and timely deliveries.
Originally incorporated as Profile Centerless Grinding, the company was re-branded in 1954 as Profile Grinding, Inc. to reflect its expanding range of precision-grinding services.
In 1996 the company added its first Swiss turning machine and began partnerships with material treatment specialists to offer machined and manufactured complete components, streamlining the supply chain.
To offer more robust services to the market and to keep up with demand, CNC turning machines, CNC milling machines, and CNC grinding machines were added to our equipment list by 2002, further expanding our machining capabilities and leading to a 10,000 sq ft building addition.
With turnaround times becoming increasingly important to our customers, PGI made vast improvements to our internal processes, now boasting an on-time delivery success rate of 98% for contract manufacturing and 95% for general manufacturing.
The current leadership, Rick and Cory Homer, took over daily operations, bringing a new generation of vision and energy to the company while continuing the legacy of quality, service, and precision manufacturing.
Celebrating 80 years in business, PGI launched a refreshed brand identity, honoring the company’s heritage while positioning the brand for the future with a modern visual identity and enhanced digital presence.
